PRESTO!
October 2022

Hello Guild Members,

In keeping with this year's theme, "Adventures in Music," we kicked off our new season with a warm and welcoming crowd at our Fall Membership Meeting in September. We will continue with that theme as we explore "Adventures in Fundraising" over the next few months. Read more to learn about upcoming ways to engage with our wonderful organization and the CSO this year.

In Case You Missed It (ICYMI)

Our Fall Membership Meeting was delightful at Linda Weisbruch's home with delicious food and great company, including our CSO special guests, Calin Lupanu and Aram Kim Bryan. Be sure to check out pictures from the event on our website's Photo Gallery.

Fundraising

Overture Luncheon - Our next fundraiser is right around the corner -  members are welcome to join us on October 25 at 11:30 am, Providence united Methodist Church. It's not too late to sign-up for our wonderful program and complimentary lunch. Thank you to Tammy Matula, Overture Chairman, for her hard work and all of the Table Captains who have committed to this exciting event!

Beat Beethoven Virtual 5K Race - Our annual race returns for its third year the following month on November 17-18. Register with your friends and family now! We need volunteer support with seeking sponsorships, packaging swag bags, distributing t-shirts, and posting on social media. Email Staci Marino, VP Fundraising, and let her know how you would like to help.

Musical Petting Zoo

We have been trying to get our Musical Petting Zoo (MPZ) programs back up and running but the pandemic has been putting them on hold. And because of the current corona/flu becoming prevalent with children, our plans to have a MPZ session for the Fall concert will be cancelled.

The good news, though, is that the CSO has asked us to have a table at the Fall Concert and hand out candy to the children. This gives The Guild an opportunity to engage with the children, and hopefully soon we'll be able to showcase our instruments to them.

If you are interested in participating in this opportunity, please email Adam Marino, VP of Education, and he will let you know the details and date for this occasion.

Volunteer Opportunities

CSO Concerts - One of the best volunteer opportunities is our Donor Services Table. Your support is needed to sit at the SGC Table in the lobby for Charlotte Symphony Concerts along with a CSO Table. As a representative, you greet guests and answer any questions they may have about The Guild.

The bonus is that you get to attend the concert and bring another guest with you. Check-out the sign-up opportunities to volunteer and take advantage of this great season of performances.

Amazon Smile

Did you know that as a nonprofit organization, The Guild can make money on any of your Amazon purchases? It's true. We now have the Amazon Smile app on our website's Home page (at the bottom of the page) so it's easy to do.

When you want to make a purchase on Amazon, go to the icon on our webpage and take a few steps to make your purchase, which is similar to any purchase you make through Amazon. Except this way, The Guild gets 5% of the purchase. It could add up, so take a few minutes next time you want to buy something online and use this benefit.

Thank you for reviewing ways to engage in our exciting year ahead. I look forward to seeing members throughout the year at our wonderful upcoming events.
